DVTA is thrilled to be using the Woodcrest Mansion, the centerpiece of Cabrini College, featuring a French-Themed menu provided by Flavours by Sodexo, for our end-of-winter event.
Woodcrest Mansion, which we recently used for our annual meeting with resounding success, has been a unique venue for events since it was built in 1901. Designed by Horace Trumbauer in an elaborate Elizabethan Tudor style, it has provided a glittering setting for numerous receptions, such as the wedding reception of Mary Astor Paul to millionaire Charles A. Munn.
In 1925 the Paul family sold the mansion and 120 acres of the Woodcrest estate to Dr. John Torrance, president of Campbell Soup. In 1953 the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Mary purchased the property and four years later founded Cabrini College. The Mansion was named to the National Registry of Historic Places in 2009.
